Wow, calling the raise with 64. He wasn't lying in his blog obviously after getting involved in 3 huge pots already.
-------- QUOTE(DanielNegreanu @ Friday, August 4th, 2006, 12:24 PM) * The blog should be up by now, did it last night. As for my approach, I won't be slowing down one bit. In fact, I'll probably go from playing 75% of the hands to about 85%. http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poke...538&st=260 |

Calling a PFR with 64o and minraising with a gutshot on the flop? What a fish.

Was Negreanu planning to bluff the turn?

[ QUOTE ] bounce: Negreanu Makes Up Some Ground James Johnson raises to $4,000 preflop and Daniel Negreanu calls. The player on the button, Jason Fields, also calls and the flop comes 733. Johnson bets out $5,000 and Negreanu min-raises to $10,000. Fields folds and Johnson calls. The turn puts the 5 on the board and Johnson checks. Negreanu bets $15,000 and Johnson calls. The river brings the 8 and Johnson again checks. Negreanu bets $40,000 and Johnson pushes all-in for $25,000 more. Negreanu calls and shows 64 for a turned straight and his opponent shows only pocket 10's for an over pair to the board and is eliminated from the tournament. Negreanu is now back up to $307,000 after being down as low as $195,000. [/ QUOTE ] So basically the guy makes the same mistake twice and this time gets busted. [/ QUOTE ] I can't believe the guy with TT made the decision to slowplay his hand until the river. If he would have just made a big re-raise on the flop then he would have taken the hand down. Granted, it might have been smarter to fold on the flop, but with how aggressive DN has been playing I would have assumed the TT is good on a 733 board and played to protect my hand. |

Is that hand a joke?
He wasn't content merely to call off most of his chips with a weak overpair, he had to actively donate his last $25,000 as well? What exactly did he put DN on to call this brilliant checkraise? Or does he just have a 140-1 bet on DN to win the main event, and thought the chips could be better used for this purpose? |
