It's an Asian giant hornet. They can grow to 2 inches long and are more aggressive than killer bees. Their stinger is 1/4 inch long and their venom can dissolve human tissue. They kill a few people every year in Japan I think. A dozen of them can completely wipe out a hive of 30k honey bees in a few hours. Some bad-ass bugs.

Fire specifically and heat in general. As a 3-yr-old I burned both my hands pretty badly by grabbing the on-at-the-time burner on a gas stove, was in bandages for weeks apparently.

I won't even BBQ unless my wife starts it for me first...

Ughhh! That was hard to read.

However, I did like the part about the bee ball. How the heck did that evolve?! Was there some engineer bee that said, "hey, I have been working the math and if we form a bee ball around the hornet we anticipate being able to raise the internal temperature to 117f. Now the latest intelligence says that out enemy cannot stand a temperature above 114f. So, we may be able to heat our enemy to death"

Bee 1 - "Your an idiot!"
Bee 2 - "Wait. Let's hear him out. It just may be crazy enough to work"

I read that page when the picture first got posted, and I thought that was pretty amazing. Imagine if those bees decided to use the same tactic against other creatures.

Good one. I never though of this is a phobia, but I feel this way too. When I read this, I thought "holy crap, this is me"

[ QUOTE ]
Most emetophobics claim they can will themselves to avoid vomiting, and a survey of an Internet group of emetophobics found that the average member had last vomited at least twelve years earlier. On average, it is suggested that most emetophobics have been sick five or fewer times in their lives.

Last time I puked was from a case of food poisoning more than 20 years ago, and I feel like I can keep myself from vomiting no matter how sick I may feel. I am Supernopukeman.
