These songs weren't at the very height of his career. They also aren't anything special lyrically. They're also excellent songs due to the high level of emotion he poured into them.

I agree with some of the posters here....not everyone seems to be clear on what "flow" is. It is changing rhyme schemes, delivering the lyrics along with the music rather than over it, switching gears....etc. People like Nas and Tupac and Biggie were all spectacular rappers and lyricists but certainly did not have the best flow. Like G Dollaz said, I hate to admit it but Eminem is certainly up there. Rakim. Big Pun too.

Eminem is a phenomenon, probably one of the greatest lyricists of all time but oh, hes white??? Just enjoy what he has to offer to the rap game. He definitley raised the bar as far as lyrical content. Not just because his rhymes are tight as hell but he is a great story teller, which is what rap is all about. When I hear groups like yin yang twins, David banner etc...I want to puke. These guys are letting the beats do all the work while they talk about stupid sh*t like rims and money and some new slang they use. A lot of hip hop artists are just filler for the beats and have no lyrical ability. Em is the real deal and it shouldnt matter that hes a white boy. Its all about where your from, what you been through and if you can pwn the mic.

The reason a lot of people don't like to admit em has skill is because he fell off and released horrible albums like encore. It says a lot that he outshone Jay-Z on Renegades by a distance
