Poker Press Release
Harrah's Announces 2006 World Series of Poker Schedule
World's Top Poker Tournament to Finish one day earlier

LAS VEGAS, Jul. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: HET - News) today announced the schedule for the 2006 World Series of Poker has changed. Harrah's will continue to stage the world's richest poker tournament at its Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino for the second year in a row.
The schedule for the $10,000 No-Limit Texas Hold'em World Championship Event which started on July 28, 2006 and was scheduled to end on August 10, 2006, has been modified slightly. With the recent elimination of Tiffany Williamson, Harrah's has announced that they expect the Main event to finish 1 day sooner.

"The World Series of Poker is the most prestigious poker tournament in the world and every poker enthusiast is invited to enter and become part of its time-honored tradition," said Jeffrey Pollack, Harrah's vice president of sports and entertainment marketing. "Harrah's does not exclude any participants for any reason, even if participation by one of them may delay the entire tournament for a full day. Last year, the team there did a magnificent job and we know that players and fans alike will be treated to an outstanding experience in 2006. Despite the noisemakers, party hats, and complementary champagne issued to the remaining players immediately following Ms. Williamson's final hand, we are sad to see any player eliminated from contention. Additionally, the temporary use of the speaker system to broadcast the 'Na na na na, hey hey-hey, goodbye' song was not sanctioned by our organization and we regret that it occurred. Finally, the confetti released from the ceiling at the exact moment of her elimination was strictly due to a mechanical error, and entirely coincidental. The Wake Up calls issued to the cell phones of every other remaining player were not."

When asked what practical impact this event would have on the tournament, Pollack noted, "In addition to an expected finish a full day earlier than scheduled, we will also return to using the usual Countdown Clock of years past, now that we no longer require a clock that can also display hours as well as minutes. And of course, Ms. Williamson will have to return her customized All-In button which was specially equipped with a reinforced yo-yo string."

Last year's World Series of Poker shattered all participation and prize money records for a live poker tournament. The 45 events generated 32,341 player entries and more than $106 million in gross prize money. Joseph Hachem of Melbourne, Australia, won the World Series of Poker Championship and an unprecedented $7.5 million.

Why don't you edit your "press release" to reflect the correct spelling of her name. It's Willamson, she's been mentioned enough on these forums that people SHOULD know what her name is.

Thank you for point that out, it is corrected. I was going by the original post, and did not doublecheck. I don't spend as much time in the forums as others do, I guess.

I can live with that.

I'm out, this is the brief synopsis I've been sending everyone :

I was doing pretty well, up to about 20k(2x starting stack) at one point. Then I lost big pot where blinds were 50/100 and I limped early with AK, a couple more limpers and the button made it 900. I called and everyone else folded. Flop was AA3, I led out for 1500, he made it 4k, i pushed and he called. He had A3 obviously gg. That was about a 15k pot, then I lost maybe 3-4k bluffing a guy I shouldnt have bluffed, I had overs and nut flush draw he called me down with bottom pair, I lost. Then when I was kind of short stacked I lost another 3k or so with QQ to AA all in pre. After that I basically had no chips and had to steal blinds and lost.

Roger Cross (of 24 fame) got involved in a pot with Ron Jeremy. Cross raised, and, showing great balls, Jeremy slowly thrusted his chips in. Roger called, and it was a real cock fight between the aging porn star and the young actor. Kings for Jeremy and a big ace (AQ) for Cross. Jeremy was in the lead, but he would have to wait for all the cards to come out before shooting his load. He was ahead preflop, but the competition was stiff going into the flop...

7 T 3

Jeremy inched further ahead, but he still resisted the urge to celebrate prematurely. There were still two cards to come. The turn...

T

Ron only had to dodge one more card, the dealer put out the money shot...

A

Cross had hit an ace! Jeremy was left deflated as he was out of chips. A terrible stroke of luck for the porn legend! Nonetheless, as always, a gentleman, he shook everyone's hand and took off to nurse an awful case of blue balls.

Roger Cross! w00t! As long as Kiefer Sutherland doesn't put him in a sleeper, I like his chances.
