EL D,

I can't wait until Madsen wins the ME and all the haters finally see the light and STFU.

This is pretty easy, Hellmuth has been eligible to play at the world series of poker for over twenty years, but only has nine braclets. That is less than one every two years.

Madsen has only been eligible for one year but has two bracelets(so far). That is two bracelets a year. If the math is confusing I'll break it down for you, Phil would need to win 31 events this year just to be almost even with Madsen.

vnh. Almost got coffee coming out of odd orifii.

After keeping up this pace for even as little as a few years, he's going to be unbelievably wealthy. Factor the supplemental income from the inevitable endorsements, what's to stop him from retiring at 25? 23?

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree - there is a good chance Madsen will retire. I have known many gamblers who won lots of money, and then they quit gambling forever. People are generally smart enough to protect their wealth by putting the money into treasury bonds, then retiring to a place like San Diego - never to be seen in a card room again.

El Diablo, do you agree that this will almost cerainly happen?

I changed my mind overnight on this subject (please see my later post), but I will say that grouping Madsen with every other gambler is a lot like grouping him with every other tournament player.

It's just "orifices". Not every big word is Latinized in the plural.

lmao! I usually just read these forums but after reading this post I had to say something. Think about what you guys are saying. Best ALL-TIME tournament player. I'm not discrediting Madsen in any way but come on, you guys are ridiculous. What the guy is doing is amazing but hes been playin big tournament poker for what, 3 weeks??? If you think he is actually gonna continue at a pace of 2 bracelets a year than you are flat out retarted. And El, how can you leave out some of the greatest of all time? Ivey, Cloutier, Seidel??? Laughable.
