im a college kid and i am all about gettin with chicks, but seriously meeting them over myspace? and trying pathetically hard to get with them is maybe the most sad/pathetic things i have ever seen.
then again, this is a poker forum, so i guess most poker players look like total losers and cant get chicks on their own?

I love how people try to act like they're a pimp and put down means of picking up chicks.

A TRUE pimp does not pass up any opportunity to pickup chicks. Just because it might be through Myspace doesn't make it any less worthy than your holy ass picking up easy college chicks.

You know, I was just thinking the same thing this morning. Personally, I've never tried online dating. But many of my friends have, and I've never thought of it as weird. I just see it as yet another way of finding ass.

Similarly, I think it's dumb when people put something like "I'm tired of the bar scene, so I'm trying this" in their personal ad. What's wrong with workin the bar scene AND workin the online scene? Man, if I were single, I really think I'd try to pull a few ladies through the online pipelines while I also worked the more traditional venues.

i kind of fealt like this too. mildly. not like you "oh [censored], im so cool, you ideots are pothetic" but more like "man this is weeeerd". i then skimmed the whole 200+ pages. these guys are brillinat. the ones that are acyually meeting the chiks. then there are those who just observe. those aree the bums. but the ones who are meeting live/ or atleast trying are cool. im in college too.

I am currently dating a girl I met off myspace. I signed up because of this thread and we have a pretty satisfying relationship so far; we've gone on 8 dates. Thanks OOT. BTW I didn't use "inside?", I used "You look like my type of people." She is 18 :P

I've been following this thread since the day it was created, but I'm only recently single so I haven't had a chance to participate until now. So hope no one minds the bump, but I wanted to share some of my Inside?/MySpace Whore moments. I set up my MySpace about 2 weeks ago (not including link yet, not ready for a trainwreck), and immediately began by doing as BEP suggested: sending out tons of inside?'s. Here was one of my first encounters, as usual, read bottom to top:

I finished it off with something like "so, does this mean you're not interested", but got no response. Like BEP said, send out infinite msgs first, then weed out the crazies/SIF's. I'm not quite desperate enough to attempt a date with that thing, but I'm still amused by her response today.

That was about the most entertaining response I've gotten so far. I've come across many dead ends, even through AIM convo's, and I'm still working on closing (been adopting a TheTruth style lately, and it's working well, but only took it up today, so no results yet) I have had two "dates", and have another one planned for this weekend. I say "dates" because I hesitate to call one a date; I just drove over to this chick's house, she met me at my car, and within an hour was riding me in the front seat. She's about a 4 in her pics, 5.5 in real life. I've boned my fair share of fatties, and I'm far from ashamed of it, but this girl honestly has lost a lot of weight since these pics, prolly from poppin a baby out. Despite having squeezed one out already at age 20, she had one of the tightest snatches I have ever felt. Here's how that convo started:

i don't like scary movies because they don't scare me, and there's not much point to watching them otherwise.. you won't find any good dialogue or anything like that in them, i mean. there are some exceptions though.. i really enjoyed Saw.

you are pretty good-looking yourself, but i didn't want to say so earlier b/c i figured you already get that from so many other guys, and i didnt want to be just another guy whose msg you deleted.

We took it to Yahoo after she got home, and soon after that to phone. We chit chatted for about 2 hours, then she started the dirty talk... I tried to arrange a 5 A.M. meeting, but we wound up meeting around Midnight the next night. I'd include pics but I'm not here for a trainwreck. I'm actually afraid of a reverse trainwreck, 'cause I called her way too often after our first (and only so far) bang, and I have a small dick. If I haven't [censored] her again by next weekend, I'll happily link to her profile.

The 2nd girl I went out with is about a 4, and heres how that went down:

She logged in AIM to chat w/ me, we chatted on a few seperate occasions after that, then I asked her out. We planned to meet up for drinks then to see a movie @ a theatre on Friday. We met at a Mexican restaurant, had a good conversation, and decided to do a movie at my place instead of the threatre so we could talk more. She was a bit touchy feely when we got to my place, brushing up against me as I gave her a "tour" of the house. We watched Memento on my couch together, she rubbed my leg a bit... so I took it from there. We made out a bit, then she said, "I'm sooo not going there with you". I was kinda floored cause things seemed to be going well, but I was like "That's cool." Then we made out a little more and she said, "It's because I am saving myself for marriage." I didn't know how to respond, so I just went ahead and went to boobsville for awhile, then we called it a night. Shes eager to meet up again, but I'm not so sure. I didn't enjoy her company so much that it'd be worth hanging out w/ her and being blueballed all the time, but at the same time, maybe she just says that to guys so that they don't try to get in her pants on the first few dates. She's an active Baptist FWIW and said she hadn't kissed a guy in 10 years, but she also drinks, has a tattoo, doesn't mind gambling, and we went to 2nd base on the first date, so...

Here's the final girl, she lives about 45m away, very much my type but the distance thing is gonna make it rough. These pics of her aren't that great, but she hooked me up with a password for her facebook.com, where she has like 400 pics or something, and she is def at least a solid 7, and very attractive to me. She's like 6'2", basketball player, very athletic, but not in a gross way (imo):

How was New Orleans? Is the city recouperating well? I have a few relatives that live down there, and some of them had to stay at my parent's house during Katrina&the aftermath.

Yeah, I figured a tall girl like you would play Center, but I didn't want to assume. I am 6'4" and played Center as well when I played Basketball.

AIM convos have gone well, and I've probably chatted w her more than any girl so far. That would be a bad thing, if not for the fact that she agreed to meet up w/ me this weekend. It's not for sure, but that's probably the best I will get considering she has never met a guy from the interent before and on the first day I chatted w/ her said she probably never would/could (protective daddy).

Lately, I've been adopting a TheTruth style approach (with a bit of [censored]'s style mixed in).. Unfortunately, nothing has come to fruition yet, but I only started yesterday. I was pretty happy w/ the way this one went, up until near the end.. So I decided to try the push away, but not sure if I executed it properly (esp after asking her to meet up the msg before):

I was intrigued by the movie. I desperately want to see it again when it's rentable. Not sure it's going to be one of my purchased, but it just might be. Never saw Amelie. The cover alone always freaked me out.

Loved the character Silas. What a freaky guy eh? I still can't believe that he is the main character in Wimbeldon.

The author, Dan Brown has done A LOT of research. My Mother says that it's fiction and that it's just bull [censored] and don't think to deeply about it. But when I get into something I want every detail. Thereby, leaving me spellbound and wanting to know more about the theory..

There is a book aside from Da Vinci, which is filled with elaborate detail and pictures and claimed evidence. Flipped threw it at the book store.. looked complex!

So what did you think of the The Da Vinci Code movie? I love all of the cast, especially Audrey Tautou (have you seen Amelie?) and Ian McKellen, and enjoyed the movie for what it was. Do you know anything about the book upon which the "facts" in the movie are based, Holy Blood Holy Grail?

So what do you do for fun in xxx other than get flowers from the homeless?

----------------- Original Message -----------------

Hello again..
Well I hate NY for the smell. Beale street isn't that smelly. Plus the homeless give you flowers for spare change. I love flowers, even if its from a smelly homeless cracked out homelss guy...

Ahh.. Bill Murry.. He's great. I would have to say I love the movie What About Bob. And of course all of the caddyshack movies! It's sad to see him now, he's gotten so old..

Ahh books... Fight Club the book was a wee bit different than the movie. I myself, loved both. I am in the middle of Da Vinci.. Yes, I haven't read it yet. For some reason I felt as though I needed to see the movie and then dig into the book. I have been dissapointed in the past by reading the book before seeing the movie..

Hey xxx,

I didn't mean to hate on your lovely capital too much, I probably just had a few bad experiences. I hated it for the same reason I hate xxx: too many homeless, drunks, college kids out to prove themselves to the world, and homeless drunks.

I was reading your blog about the St. Jude Classic the other night when I msg'ed you; it's too bad you didn't get to get Bill Murray's autograph! He is one of my favorite actors. What's your favorite movie that he's been in? Groundhog Day is one of my all time favorite movies, but I would have to go with Lost in Translation, probably because of Scarlett Johansson.

Speaking of movies, I see that you've read a lot of books that are some of my favorite movies. How does the Fight Club book compare to the movie? I have read all of Chuck Palahniuk's books except for Fight Club, I suppose I didn't want to ruin the magic.

Hi Brian. I have a cousin named Brian. He just got married actually.. And get this, he lost his wedding band only 5 days after the wedding. Must be a record right? I must say I love your honesty. Yes NYC is a shithole.
I hate the city.. well I can't say that. I hate the traffic in the city.. how's that? I live about an hour and a half north of the 'shithole'. I'm home now, but I will be returning back to the 'dirty south' in a week or so. I hate southern belle accents, and I have picked up a thing or two living in the south for 3 years now. It's depressing. But for the most part I'm your typical Yankee, not too strong of an accent but on certain words I can be detected...

Hi xxx, I'm Brian. I'm not [censored] lame and I like to make out. What part of New York are you from? I have been to NYC a few times and I think its a shithole. But if you're from another part of NY then that's cool. I suppose xxx isn't that much better either though, I have probably been corrupted from living down here so long, too. Though I was born/raised here, most people say I have a northern accent, which I take as a compliment of course. Do you have an accent at all?

-Brian

Judging by her reaction, I thought my opener was very strong, so I went for an early close when I saw the opporunity. I probably should have tried the push away before asking her out for drinks, though, because she clearly ignored the invitation.

I'll share more as they come.
