I predict that within this thread I will announce that I've won a seat at the WSOP ME.

I have failed.

I agree, thats what I'm saying.

He played it fine, I paid him off. At the end of the day he got odds on his float, because I was too blind not to push. Had I not paid him, his play would have been -EV, but as it was he came off +EV.

At $2 for the float, he needed to scoop $16.80 by the river to make it +EV, and I gave him $25.

[/ QUOTE ]

You didn't give him anywhere near $25. Even if he makes his hand on the turn, you redraw to beat him on the river anywhere from 5% to 35% of the time. If you always shove turn and he always folds UI and always calls with 2pair+,

he loses $2 40 times

wins $23.50 2 times (when he hits a ten)
wins $17 2 times (when he hits the 8c or 8s)
wins just $8 the 1 time he hits the 8d

so his average win when he does improve on the turn is just $17.80.

His net expectation on the play is just $0.20, and that's provided he always gets your whole stack when he improves & never puts another dime in when he doesn't.

You guys are missing the point. He's not floating, from his perspective he probably has the best hand.

hehe. well i never said i thought Villain was floating though...i just wanted to point out that Villain's call wasn't as profitable as the OP seemed to think.

Then what happened??

[/ QUOTE ]
You're killin' me man, you're killin' me.

Since I will get (deservedly) flamed for asking anywhere else, I'll ask here: what do people think of the 100s on Party, and do they differ substantially from the 50s?

What I've seen is just an incrementally larger number of competent players and an incrementally smaller number of fish.

I spent the weekend moving up, running sick bad for a session, and losing enough that I made myself move back down to get comfortable again; and I literally repeated that process three times over two days.

No tilt involved, and not an enormous loss even, but more than one river-2-outer-villain-scoops-$200-pot experience. I need a hug. Or a kick in the nuts. Or both.

100 is harder than 50 but not so hard that a winning played at 50 couldn't be a winning player at 100.

Ugggh. I forgot how much poker sucks when you are running bad Last 4 days break even, with sub-optimal play resulting from frustration and a slow loss of confidence.

Anyone notice that the Full Tilt games at 200NL have been harder to find a decent table recently?
