I have yet to see a better goal scorer ever.

Müller.

He scored 68 times in 62 games for Germany, 365 goals in 427 Bundesliga games. Nobody will ever top that.

LOL I was not born when he was doing his thing. But yeah that is quite an impressive stat sheet.

I have watched pretty much every world cup (for sometime the only time we in the US were exposed to world class soccer till satelite) game since 1986 and the best player I ever saw was pretty obvious........... Maradona. It really is not close. He pretty much carried his teams on his back.

Some of the others that standout (world cup wise):

He played in the US too btw. Fort Lauderdale Strikers 1979.

Canniggio(ARG) was good too. I doubt he makes the top 20 list though. Roberto Baggio for sure!

cannigigia was sick (and he played for Benfica so I love him) but he doesn't belong in a top 20 list

Zidane definetely, Henry definitely (although thats based more on his club career thus far) Ronaldinho is close. Maybe Ronaldo.

You really think he belongs into all-time top 20?

Yep, I think he's done enough in his career to this point to sneak into the bottom of the top 20 all time. Barring a catastrophic injury, by the time he's done he'll almost certainly be in the top 10, and maybe the top half of the top 10. Winning a European title with Arsenal, this World Cup, and a World Player of the Year or two will help him get to that level. He is one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the history of this game.

henry being top 20 is a stretch, being in the top half of the top 10 is absolutely ridiculous.

Ahem. If you'd bother to actually READ my post, I said that he -might- be in the top half of the top 10 BY THE TIME HIS CAREER IS OVER. He is just reaching his peak right now, and deserves to be in the bottom of the top 20 right now.

Christ almighty. People just read what they want to read, I guess, no matter what's actually printed in front of them.
