I hate these people that say England aren't any good. They beat Argentina no more than 6 months ago. World Cup is about peaking at the right time. England has the class, they just havent showed it yet.

England dominated possession for the 30 minutes or so but were unable to generate any quality scoring chances. Equador did nothing in the midfield but did have the breakaway chance by Tenorio. Equador was able to piece together some semblance of an offensive attack late in the half. The longer this game goes 0-0, the better chance Equador has to win, IMO. Playing at 9000'+ does have it's advantages.

Oh, they're good, just not *very* good, and almost certainly not a full goal better than Ecuador. Anything beyone the round of 8 is a huge accomplishment for this group. What they did months ago is irrelevant. Now, when it counts, they are pretty ordinary for a team touted to be one of the 4 big favorites.

There's a difference between not being very good, and not playing well. And frankly, as of this point, I dont really give a [censored] how they played. It should be game to game now. As long as England get the result, I'm happy. They have the quality to go to the final winning 1-0 each game.

there's a difference (big one) between saying a team has been disappointing and "they're not that good".

Well, you can get England -0.5 at +100 for the second half right now. Load up!

Or, maybe they are disappointing because expectations were significantly too high given their actual ability.
