Everytime I watch this movie it makes me think less and less of it. It has slowly moved down the list of the best star wars film. It goes

1. Empire Strikes Back - IMO this is lightyears beyond any of the other 5.
2. Return of the Jedi
3. Revenge of the Sith - I put this one pretty much on the same level as attack of the clones but I think this one had slightly better battle scenes and the absence of an annoying comic relief type character of Jar Jar/C-3PO makes this one better.
4. Attack of the Clones
5. A New Hope
6. Phantom Menace

why do you like empire strikes back so much?

I like A New Hope because (not in order)

1. all the charachters are introduced. (pre phantom Menace)

2. Its story feels very self contained (as there was never planned to be filmed a sequel.)

3. Obe wan kenobe is such a wise old mysterious spiritual baddass.

4. I love the magical romantic fantasy quest genre.

5.Most of all: "You're all clear kid, now let's blow this thing and go home!" I still get goose bumps when I think about the awsome ending, cluching victory from the jaws of defeat when all in the universe is on the line, all possible because the scoundrel (Han Solo) makes a totally uncharachteristic decision to do the selfless thing.
