"The administration would like the department to decide who teaches what, but they will intervene if a consensus cannot be reached."
This appears to be a key statement. Did your department already come to a consensus? If not, this seems like a way you could force the administration to listen what you have to say. If you want to be spiteful, I'd say start a lunch time/prep 'physics study hall' and see how many students show up. I'm sure the administration and TTWC would notice 30 some students showing up to your room. I'm sure they'd bitch about TTWC and word would get back to her. As a teacher who just finished my first year, I couldn't imagaine taking AP Calc from a veteran teacher, however if that teacher wasn't there my first year, it would make easier. |

in the last 9 days, I have left the principal 2 voicemails asking for him to return my call, as i would like to schedule a meeting with him and TAP. i have yet to be called back. how many messages do i leave before i go over his head and call the superintendent? [/ QUOTE ] OMG you really are a teacher. Nobody responds to voice mails anymore, email is the only solution because you have a paper trail. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] TT, You live in the real world. We are talking about the teaching world here (not unlike Bizzarro world). It has no semblance to the real world. Remember that the Principal came out of retirement to do this gig. He probably has no clue about e-mail. And btw, a paper trail is that last thing someone in school administration wants. They only use that when they are out to get someone. They use the paper trail to their advantage - they start to write up teachers when they are looking to get rid of them. Stuff like that. RJT Bob, 10-1 he is on vacation. They like to get out of town asap after school’s out. (Even odds he went to Vegas - just a hunch.) RJT |

-principal has never returned my calls requesting a meeting with him and assistant principal. just sent him an email telling him that since he has chosen to ignore my requests for a meeting, i have no other option but to set up a meeting with the superintendent.
-sent an email to the superintendent requesting a meeting to discuss my concerns about the circumstances surrouding my return from my leave of absense. -have applied for a job in another district. -have a few drafts of my letter of resignation in the works. one "professional" version. another "go [censored] yourself" version. another "in between" version. |

I would also opt for an 'I have a shovel in my trunk' version.

You should post the "go [censored] yourself" version.

You should post the "go [censored] yourself" version. [/ QUOTE ] i am sure it is not as scathing as you would want (no profanity), but it makes my position very clear and will be insulting to a few without actually naming them. |
