It doesn't hold any more weight than one person's opinion because min-raises mean a ton of different things with a lot of different players in a lot of different situations. Some players min-raise with air. Some min-raise with marginal hands like TPNK or middle pair. Others min-raise with sets, others with draws. My point is - you have no idea what this min-raise means, but you have a pretty good hand.

You haven't proven anything about why raising this flop is correct - absolutely nothing you've said proves that. The only things you have said are some weak-tight blather about folding against the nuts - okay, if you want to fold to this, go ahead - there've been situations and players against which I have folded this kind of hand in this kind of spot.

I don't especially love the call AI on turn line, especially if Villain fires out a near PSB, but it's the best of the options mentioned so far.

Because he's a short buy UTG poster, which means he loses a lot of respect.

You still don't seem to get it. Is pushing the flop or calling and getting it in on the turn more likely to get a worse hand to pay you off? If you think pushing the flop is MORE likely to get a worse hand to call then you need to reexamine your game. Folding is fine on the flop, but raising is sooooo far behind calling as a valid option it's ridiculous.

I'm starting to think you're trolling as you seem to be ignoring the logical arguments of everyone in this thread while presenting none of your own besides "my poll showed minraises are the nuts from everyone at all levels"

Btw Dan,

I never ever min-raise on the flop except with trips or better - I want people to call with two pair or worse. Thanks for paying me off 100% of the time dude ;-)

[/ QUOTE ]

Ive never paid off trips on a kt5 board and I never will.

Jim, maybe I'd feel the need to talk down to you less if you demonstrated the ability even to read the other poster's (and even your own) comments.

You just now said that, "...NOBODY except for you is advocating a flop fold."

Mason55 says, "you're probably behind"

Schwerd says, "you can fold"

Poker Hoar says, "you need to find out where you are sooner than later"

Lucky says, "I'm usually folding here"

MDMA says, "either call or fold"

You said " folding is clearly an option"

Knifeyspoony suggests "they {might} have a monster"

If none of these comments suggest a flop fold then accept my sincere apologies for daring to question your impeccable poker wisdom.

slartibartfast -

no one is arguing that a fold COULD be correct here. the argument is whether, if you decide to continnue, a raise or call is better. and a call is obviously better.

in fact jim said this specifically:

[ QUOTE ]
Whether or not this is a fold can be discussed, but a raise is terrible, under typical conditions.

Mason didn't you notice I quoted Jim as saying "NOBODY except for you is advocating a flop fold", I just pointed out that he did and several others also.

Can't you even read a post properly?

If not don't bother responding, it's a waste of time. For the last time, has anyone got any more specific suggestions than, "call then play poker"? If all you say is call then guess then how can you say raising is "horrible"? Learn to read then criticise.

I'm with Big Jim too, but I don't think a raise is awful. It's just that calling is better.
