JV,

Did this thread come into play at any point during the session? Like, did you think, "F#$&, I'm stuck like 72k, but if I lose 3k more I can post a new record. . . "? I would guess the possibility of a new record came into play around 60-65k. . .

and,

if you're that curious about dali's big losses i think you just have to go and search for "silence of the daliman" or whatever in the archives. dali gambools sometimes, and goes broke sometimes. sometimes he doesn't go broke.

$14K playing 25-50 on UB. That was enough pain for one day.

The day I lost my last $600 was worse. Good thing that ain't happening again.

You went 100 bets live? Wow..that's nasty. Did you think about leaving around the 3k mark?

I'm more surprised / scared about the 24 hour part than the 100 bets. I've done the 100 bets in less time but never played even close to that long live before my play gets awful - 10 hours or so is my limit.

I just don't see how you can go that deep in a live game unless it's shorthanded (and even then really). But that's just me - typically in sessions where I lose more than 50 bets, I find some of it was my doing in retrospect. Once you are that stuck, another problem is that your opponents will start to smell blood and play much better against you, even the crappy ones. This can cause problems.

Just my take but honestly I rarely if ever go deeper than 50 bets in a live game and consider strongly whether it's a good spot before I reach that point. As for the 24 hour thing, I've done it many times and it's usually not the best idea...it's almost always when I'm stuck - winners go get some sleep. Generally, I rarely do it now but I will make exceptions.
