OOT used to be a bit kinder toward some of its own when they were female. I used to be quite surprised by how often the competitive jerkwad douchebags of OOT would often "drop out of character" to be nice to females posting directly or guys posting pics with their wives or girlfriends in them. Repeatedly. OOT doesn't acquit itself quite as well in that regard these days, but it still is very far from crueler than your average internet douchebag haven -- and almost the whole internet is a douchebag haven.

One problem that makes things sound worse than they are, by far, is when female OOT'ers paint their arguments with hugely sloppy brushes. For instance, claiming that the hyper-critical dissing of supermodels or actresses mirrors how male OOT'ers talk or think about all women or even those women who frequent OOT in particular. That kind of assertion is silly.

Actresses and supermodels, let's face it, aren't rocket scientists. They aren't Alberta Schweitzer's toiling to save the world at great personal cost. It's more like, live by the sword, die by the sword. If you become preposterously adored, as all celebrities do, but it's to a great extent because of your boobs or something, well, when you get a boob job and one winds up lopsided, yeah, people are going to laugh. If you live like and are regarded as almost superhuman because of your physical perfection rather than your talent, well, when your ass gets fat, yeah, we're gonna laugh.

Partly at our own absurdity for going so nuts over these women's looks, and partly over the absurdity of some of these women falling into the same trap over themselves that we horny dudes do over them. Sexual attraction to someone you've never even seen in real life and probably never will is a pretty ridiculous and tenuous thing, and all it takes is a pound or three one way or the other to lay bare the preposterousness of it.

So we laugh at ourselves when we refuse to cut a supermodel any slack and start rating the 10's as 7's. We take joy in putting down the favorites of others because in the unreal world of supermodel evaluation, you can never be picky enough, and being openly realistic is simply a failure of the imagination being expressed as a failure of nerve. We don't care if these multi-millionaire idiots are sensitive creatures; we just enjoy needling the tremendous failure of their eating too much chocolate pudding one weekend and refuse to let it go. How many other triumps are we going to get with these women, anyway?

The real world is something else entirely. Are most of our wives and girlfriends a bit fat? Probably -- if not now, then they will be if we keep them around long enough. Sorry, natural fact of aging and of taking each other for granted. We guys will probably get fat too.

And we'll all forgive ourselves and each other. These days, probably a good deal more than we should, actually. America isn't being swept by a skinniness epidemic, but an obesity epidemic. But just because we're all human doesn't mean we don't know what we like, nor that we should feel ashamed of valuing health and taking a healthy pride in our physical abilities and appearance. Most of us don't make a living on our looks. Especially if we're men. But for those who do, "no mercy" is a fun game. But men know the difference between a game and reality. Sometimes, like in certain OOT threads like this one, it seems like women would like to pretend they don't, or we don't, or both.

The part you see is actually just the front end of a very complicated system.
If you're not careful what you do with it, it can get you in big trouble.

Those who don't have it may agree that it's a nifty toy, but think it's not worth the fuss that those who do have it make about it. Still, many of those who don't have it spend all their time trying to access it.

Once you've started playing with it, it's hard to stop. Some people would just play with it all day if they didn't have work to do.

Some people believe in security and avoiding penetration but others believe it should be open to all comers.

Both are subject to hardware dongles.

Agreed. A very large number of people on my ignore list are there for being racist. And yes, even some for being really mean to women here. Though in general, I agree with El D's point that the majority of posters are very nice to "real" girls as opposed to the "supermodel" types. I think that the exchange between gorie and El D is also telling as he is correct that a huge number of posters have been complimentary towards gorie's photos, yet she recalls it diifferently, which shows the potential negative impact.

Yes, I think she set herself up for a fall posting her pictures, and by repeatedly exaggerating the negativity expressed toward her regarding them(this is not the first time -- this seems to be a pet subject with Gorie), refused not to take it. In fact most people like Gorie and I'm not sure why the hell we should even know what she looks like or why she wanted to show us. It is the internet, after all. And posting pics of oneself and then being disappointed if you are able to find reviews that are less than glowing seems perilously close to fishing for compliments. The internet is the wrong pond. OOT is the wrong pond.

Yet still, most responses toward Gorie were and remain positive. I think Gorie sometimes seems enamored of her own suffering. Eh, whatever works for ya. Any victimization here was almost entirely self-created, though.

I love ya, Gorie, but you can't expect every last random person on the internet to be flattering. It doesn't work that way, not even for girls. Now cheer up and, as I once said to a friend, don't stick your dick in front of a passing train.
