This subthread is gay.

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you Gigabet's boyfriend? Or would you like to be?

Even the thought that this guy could be an ass-bandit makes me lose all respect I had for Gigabet.

Appauling. Girls are sexy...honestly!

OK.

To everyone whom he scammed out of money:
how much of a class act is he?

[/ QUOTE ]

The only real-live name that was ever actually offered up as evidence is Scott Fischman. Here's a PM I got from Scott when I asked him about the subject (back when he was hanging around here arguing with the apes in the monkey house and plugging his site):

well i have only been reading the [censored] they write about me..and i hate doing that anyway,,,,there is no way i am gonna spend time reading about giga....all i can say is...i am still good friends with him...he is a GENIUS!! with out any doubt...and ANY post he has EVER made you should def apply to your own game...not to mention re-reading it like 8 times cuz i know he can be somewhat in depth and confusing at times... his intelligence and dedication to the game far outweigh that of ANY other player.
PS i am not too handy with the way this works...is there anyway that you can put your question to me about giga and then add my reply to it...and add it to where they do all the shittalking....then send me a link so i can find it? thanks man
<<<>>>

You know this is him because there's no way I could make up that writing style. So I'm not saying Giga didn't rip anyone off. But all I've ever heard is one concrete name, and that person seems to bear no ill will. Make of it what you will.

[/ QUOTE ]

I get it...your a wannabe Crew member?

Wake up to yourself - you don't know Gigabet and you CERTAINLY don't know Fischman.

This convinced me that you did.

I watched some of the episode last night and I have greater respect for Darryl than I did previously. Things that I noticed about him.

He is respectful - he doesn't have to resort to overtly berating other players. He lost to Brunson when he was way ahead and simply said "Good hand Mr. Brunson"

Emotionally detached - This guy plays his game, makes his decisions and lets the cards fall as they may. He doesn't jump out of his chair and act a fool like a lot of these characters. He has confidence in his correct decisions and there is nothing else to do.

Thoughtful, strategic, calculated - When you read gigabets stuff, you need to digest, regurgitate, and re-digest to really understand what he is getting at. This guy understands strategy on all levels and can execute on them at every level. He underestand odds, he understands risk management better than anyone.

I really think that we are going to see a lot from gigabet, it is my opinion that Gigabet will quietly emerge as a poker star who's celebrity becomes secondary.

I won't comment on whether Gigabet is gay or scams people. I had never heard either of those accusations. Anyway, there was another player at the table who seemed more gay.

The "nice hand, Br. Brunson" comment was a nice touch.

The hand where he raised 74s on the button and kept firing at the high flop was typical of Gigabet's image.

They seemed to present him sort of as the guy from Iowa who got in on a satellite, rather than as Gigabet the famous onlin LAG.

Didnt VVP make some sort of comment about one if Gigabet's plays "showing the youngster's inexperience?" I truly laughed out loud at that one. I dont know what was funnier VVP calling Giga inexperienced or the fact that he was doing poker analysis.

Yes. Even if he's gay (like they say) it doesn't matter. He's the real deal.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not sure what's more unnerving here, the veiled homophobia or the fact that I have never, ever, ever heard this rumor before.

Edit: If he WAS gay, though, his nickname should be immediately changed to Darrell "Deep" Dicken.

Yeah i remember saying to myself "thats gigabet?", the cooler the online name the nerdier looking the guy, another example sdouble.

[/ QUOTE ]

See, I thought he looked better than I expected. When I first heard "Internet player from Iowa" I was expecting to see a pale 300-pound dude who looked like he subsisted entirely on beef and corn.
