Call your own fouls, don't be a bitch, one point per basket, play to 11, halfcourt. This is how we used to play.

i,

"How about fouls, I am constanstly pissed off about playing streetball because I constantly get fouled in the post and make a basket fractionally after but the defence always calls the foul as before the shot, should the rules be only offence can call fouls. "

This sounds like nothing I've ever seen or heard of at any playground anywhere. WTF kind of pussy games are you playing?

play to 11 by ones and twos, or whoever gets to 15 first if nobody wins by two at 11.

call your own fouls, but don't be a pu$$y. you bring it into the paint you should be able to handle some contact. i rarely call fouls unless i really get smacked or if my team needs a point. ALSO, if you call a foul you don't count the basket, you take the ball to the top of the key and check it.

no back court. anyone who calls back court in a playground game deserves to be smacked around.

and another thing, everybody should get the ball at some point, but if you are a terrible shooter/ball handler, give the ball to someone else who can and go set a pick. this always pisses me off.

whats the verdict on choosing squads? team captains OR first 5 to make a free throw?

This is almost exactly the same as here at Cal Poly, except:
- everything is one point, no twos
- if you call a foul and make the basket, the basket counts and game continues normally

Selection is first 5 to make a free throw when a new game starts, and people waiting to play form teams of 5 by who was there first.

The rules at the athletic center at OU are play to 15 by 1s and 2s, full court, winner stays, offense calls fouls, and teams are first chosen by captains (if it's a new game), or whoever calls next first picks their 5 man team.

WTF is with you guys that only play by 1s? What's the fun in taking out the value of the 3-point shot?

first, by 1s is old school.

second, the reason real playground games don't count 3s is because of the arguments that ensue. if you are playing with a bunch of soft college kids, then i guess playing with 3s is ok, but at real playgrounds, way too many fights get started when one dude says shooters foot was on the line. it slows down the game too.

A lot of people here play by 1's, and 3's are worth 2.

Yea, I know it's old-school, but isn't it generally accepted that post 3-pointers >>>>> pre 3-pointers?

Also, yea, I can see the problems it could cause. I generally play with people mainly wanting to have fun and it still causes some issues sometimes.

Default here is 3-5 the game becomes 21. Fun stuff. Once 4 get there all the way up until 5 on 5, its first to 13 win by 2. Threes are twos, and field goal/layup is one. Fouls are called by player, if there is a dispute, player who was "fouled" shoots a three to see who gets ball. No "and one's".
