Default Capped Small Four Flush on the Flop

Playing live 8-16 at Casino Arizona.

I'm new to the forum. I've mostly played live at Arizona and Las Vegas casinos for the last couple of years, w/ some low/micro-limit online experience. I mostly play 4-8 and 6-12 hold 'em at Casino Arizona, occasionally playing 8-16 when there's a good table going.

I was only on the table for about 30 hands, so not a lot in the reads department. UTG is kinda tricky...caught me w/ KQx after he smooth called preflop w/ QQ and flopped a set. Both early position players seemed kind of passive, MP is fairly tight and aggressive...50/50 that he'll raise if he's coming in, and if he's raised preflop he will always fire/raise on the flop. SB got lost on the way to the slots.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 raises, 2 folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: (12 SB) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 raises, SB calls, BB calls, UTG raises, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, SB calls, BB raises (capped), UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, SB calls.

Turn: (18 BB) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 players)
SB checks, BB bets, UTG calls, 4 folds

River: (20 BB) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero...?

Bet. He might be "kinda tricky" but he's not tossing A9 here.

1. I'm cnfzzed why BB and SB seem to be acting last.

2. Put in bets every chance you get. If you get raised/ 3 bet on the turn, slow down. Other than that bet and bet everywhere. If he filled up, so be it. Not valuebetting this river is awful.

Gah...my bad...I was so concerned that I make the post look all pretty that I messed up the action. It's correct now.

The flop action is a little confusing. Aside from that... HU on the river - I have no idea why you wouldn't value bet this hand.

Well, I'm holding the smallest possible flush, and UTG's action on the flop screams set or flush draw to me. It was obvious that two players were on big hands and everyone else was along for the ride. I don't see how I put UTG on A9 or a gut shot in this situation (or 2 pair -- 26, 69 or 29 UTG?). 78 is a possibility, but is it as likely as a set or a bigger (but not nut) flush draw? Since he was willing to 3 bet the flop I've got to discount the possiblity that he's holding 78 (unless it's 78c...which is not of the good). Perhaps I'm giving him more credit than he deserves, but with a 2 flush on the flop and all the ensuing action, I've gotta figure I have 6 outs if I'm open ended. With 8 or 9 outs I'll jam the flop with bets, not with 6 outs to make a hand vulnerable to redraws, though.

In any case, I don't think checking the river gives me a free showdown unless he's got a small flush (but necessarily bigger than mine) or has deuces full. If I bet out, sixes full or quad 9s and I'm definitely facing a raise to show down. If by some miracle he is holding 78, he can't call. So I'm not sure there's much that can go well if I bet out here.

He's getting 21:1 on a river call, closing the action. He will call your bet with A9 or an overpair, certainly. If you check to him, I think he only bets with a better hand or on a bluff with a busted draw. He obviously calls your bet 100% of the time with a better hand, unless he raises. He probably doesn't raise with a worse hand.

I dunno....my first impulse was to bet, but the more I think about it, the more I like check/calling. It just feels wrong.

Next time, river the 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Sage advice. I'm not greedy though; A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] would've been acceptable.
