Oh, and as another poster mentioned, PLEASE talk to Pat over at Poker Tracker and have your software compatible with his right when you launch. This might not seem like a huge deal, but it will surely convince the types of players you find here (large volume multi-tablers) to give a new site a chance.

Top of the list:

-Good, fast software. A "stable" feel to poker software adds an intangible amount to a site (see PokerStars and Ultimate Bet for examples.)

-Good bonuses, rakeback, yadda, yadda, yadda.

-Customisable lobby with plenty of filters (e.g. by limit, PL/NL/Fixed, game type).

-Plenty of marketing to attract some fish.

Oh and another thing, make a switch seat option so if a seat opens up at a table you're sitting at, you can move to it. And have stuff like live straddling, that would be fun.

Also dealers choice and Kill games are fun and fairly unique.

I have been posting for years that a poker site should give players at the table first option for a seat change before a new player gets the seat.

I have no clue how difficult that would be to program. Countless times I have wished for this option as a seat to the left of a LAG has opened and been filled.

All of the ideas here are good. You know that no one is coming without bonuses rakeback etc, but here's the deal. There is not a person who posts here regularily who doesn't have or has had a problem with party and/or one of its skins yet they all stay there. If you can't attract fish quickly you will have no chance for success even if you have the best software on the net. No amount of bonuses or rakeback or fancy 3D graphics make up for fish. The most important thing any new poker site has is there marketing plan.

First off, kudos for coming here first. Most guys like you are employed by sub-human retards who wouldn't think to send their engineers to a place like this.

There are tons of good suggestions in this thread so I really have nothing to add, I just wanted to thank you for caring about the customer. And this is a great place to gain feedback.
