Could someone have obtained her sign-in password and played her account on a different computer with a bot? I've never actually tried signing into my account on a different computer than my home machine, but I assume I could with the username and password?

[/ QUOTE ] This actually makes more sense to me than the "WinHoldem cookie" theory. A non-tech-savvy little old lady is likely to have something lame as a password. She might have been phished, or someone simply might have an easy-to-guess password. There are more than a few online poker password phishing schemes going around. |

[ QUOTE ] I think it's pretty absurd some of you are already accusing one of the best limit players online that he is missinterpreting the situation or holding information from you. And to suggest that he would bot out a nano-limit on his mom's computer?? [/ QUOTE ] Either his story is not complete/is misunderstood/there is some malfeasance... OR The most reliable poker site on the internet/the most reliable online poker room manager on the internet have taken a completely irrational path. Neither one makes much sense. All I'm saying is just because he is one of the "greatest online limit players" does not mean that you should unquestionably accept this story in total. (See ZeeJustin). I'm not accusing him of lying, but nobody's perfect, and this whole story does not add up. I will reserve further judgment until we see the email exchange, you should all do the same. It would also be nice if we could get a comment in this thread from Stars Support/and/or Lee Jones. [/ QUOTE ] OR there is one of a hundred other logical explanations... I will say that Pokerstars screwed up here either way. If they really do believe that she was running a bot they should have CONFISCATED THE MONEY and RETURNED IT TO THE VICTIMS! Either way they have shown their incompetence with this and with the ZeeJustin fiaso. |

[ QUOTE ] Yeah... why would any 57 year old woman enjoy randomly pushing buttons as fast as possible with absolutely no thinking involved, just so that she can occassionally win small amounts of money which allows her to continue pushing buttons until it all runs out? btw, ever seen the inside of a casino? [/ QUOTE ] NH [/ QUOTE ] No, it's a terrible comparison, actually. Playing one slot machine in a casino is drastically different from 6 tabling nanolimit holdem online. It's requires far more concentration and thinking, let alone hand eye coordination, and offers absolutely zero chance at the big payout that so obviously is what draws so many middle aged and older women into the casinos. I'm sure if they only knew... droves of old women would jump right into grinding a quarter a day online instead of playing slots in the casino. Absolutely, nice hand, indeed! |

Plus, I feel quite confident that if false emails were posted, Stars would rectify that [/ QUOTE ] Why only fake emails and not also fake allegations? I mean.... Subject: Stars catches a bot and it's........my mom Wouldn't Stars/Lee jump in to correct anything misreported in a thread with that title anyway, before even looking at the exact wording of emails that say "Dear XXXX"? |
