if what you are saying is true about security, and that is very likely, then how can he have chips after the first day, or whatever the proof was?

[/ QUOTE ] The chip counts weren't an exact science in the main event. Even the cardplayer video streams talk about the chip count corrections made. As far as why he would have chips after his accident... I couldn't tell you. My best guesses are that the "girlfriend" has the dates mixed up (side note - she doesn't exactly seem like the kind of person you can ask poker-related questions), or that they didn't change the name of Kwazar's replacement in the standings. It's a rare situation when someone's in an accident and can't continue, and I don't know if there's a protocol in place there. After reading everything, it just sounds like the girl's mixed up.

She didn't know the exact date that the accident occurred, didn't realize he was in the WSOP, and reported the date wrong by a couple of days. This is why she was evasive when people asked her how he could have played in the WSOP while he was in the hospital. The fact that she's not a close friend would also explain why she originally didn't know which hospital he was in -- she's relying on other people to relay the information to her. She's been getting secondhand information fed to her from someone who knows Kwazar, and has been updating the blog in order to keep the donations rolling in.
