Aw, I was looking at it from a differnt point of view than you.

I agree with your comments to some extent, but at the same time, and agree that an average performance at the end of the show will get a little better response than it should, and an average performance at the beginning of the show will be a little more forgettable than it should. But I still think the overall talent and ability factor contains over 90% of the weight for the general public on deciding how good someone was. Maybe I am wrong, but that is just my opinion.

She didnt. She is bottm five, but her value has rised in the past two week, even though she has 0% chance to win. Book it now, Taylor, Chris or Kellie, anyone else wont make top 3.

She did. I bought her two weeks (march 31) ago hoping for short-term value at 4/6 and she is now 3/5 so I'm not sure where you're getting info saying she has went up in the past two weeks.

BTW, for anyone still looking to jump on the Taylor bandwagon at this late date, WSEX has fixed-odds futures on Idol (not the interactive traded ones) pricing Taylor at +350 (equivalent to a contract price of 22.2, so it's actually scalpable at WSEX for a few pennies). I couldn't resist picking some up yesterday, but I'm not a big enough Idol player to have moved the price.

I fail to understand how such different odds can exist side-by-side at the same site.

The price is tied to the perceived likelihood of them winning the whole thing. It's not based on how far they get or how many people are left. So value doesn't go up just because they've advanced another week. Paris' value will likely stay about the same unless she does something amazing to make people think she could possibly win, or if the top 4 start getting voted out before her. Right now those are the only 4 contestants who are perceived as having a legitimate chance to win the whole thing.
