imo this doesn't look as bad or blatent as the previous one posted by josh b/c AT LEAST one of them had a good draw and could have been trying to clean up outs...but the AQ was certainly played odd.

These two hands are surely waking up the dead. It looks like the Thriller video... Just think about the subtle stuff that is going on...

You know, I must just be thick.
I don't know how you guys can conclude collusion based on this hand. Many things point to this not being collusion: 1. Their hands: The one guy has a monster draw. The other guy apparently just badly overvalued AQ but got lucky when he caught his opponent with a busted draw. I assume that some guys have been known to get hyperaggressive in these shorthanded games. 2. The spot: If guys were colluding, I would assume that they would try and rob the mark of his money in a spot where they think that there's a very good chance that their colluding actions will yield some fruit. So, for example, if they put you on an obvious draw, they make you pay through the nose by capping the turn or something. But here, you raised preflop, bet the flop and bet the turn. The collluders are taking a pretty big risk to put in 5 or more big bets between them if it turns out that you have an overpair bacause, of course, you are not folding that hand no matter what they do. I grant that this reason is not all that strong because really, they are not risking 5 bets (but merely 3 bets) given that the guy with the big draw would likely raise the turn even if his partner was not in the hand and given taht the draw is going to get there about a third of the time. 3. The showdown: Why the hell would AQ call the river if he were colluding. He could simply fold and claim in the chat line that he had JT with a straight draw and how dumbanimal was nothing but a dumbluckyprick. One thing that is quite odd however is that neither of your opponents raised on the flop (which one might them to do in this spot if they weren't colluding). But again, that simply is not odd enough to strongly consider collusion. |

skp, if NYPlayer posted this hand 4 days ago no one would've thought anything of it. but the fact is that the similarities between the two hands is striking.
