I downloaded WPEX today to take advantage of the rake free program. I had no issues downloading or installing, however, when I attempt to open it up, it tells me that I have connection issues. The connection on the site is good and similar to google and yahoo.
I emailed support and they said that my firewall could be up and if so, I should disable it in order to play. When I looked at my internet connection, it showed a firewall (I have a linksys router). I do not have this issue connecting to any other site. so, if you could help a middle age, non-computer ultra savvy guy: 1.) How do I disable the firewall 2.) Is this a wise decision - many homes in the neighborhood have wireless connections (I have the WEP encription so I think that my information is safe) 3.) why would this be the case for this site but not the others? Thanks for your help with the 3rd grade remedial questions. |

the router firewall shouldnt block things from your system connecting to the net. But if you do turn it off (you can probably search the linksys site of google for that), I would suggest you download a free version of ZoneAlarm first. you can set it so that programs on your computer have to request interent access.

Thanks a bunch for the replay.
I emailed their support and they gave me a bunch of potential solutions and then at the end of the message suggest that I reboot the router, if by some chance I hadn't already. That was the solution. When will I learn? |
