this is how i usually start sessions, and spend 2000 hands getting even

played another session today. i didnt tilt/play bad, like my past 3 sessions. the downswing continues though. i run pretty decent... except i always lose the significant pots. i won one coin toss today, i got 2-3 outed for my stack a countless amoutn of times, people always hit sets on me in reraised pots, my semibluffs dont work because they never hit (and no one folds)... meanwhile everyone semibluffs or calls off their stack and hits their [censored] draws against me.

I had a very similar downswing this month, from being +15k to even for the month, which is 25 bi or something at 3/6, pretty similar to yours. It got to the point where I wasn't sure if I sucked, if it was variance, if i was burnt out or w/e. So I just stopped playing for like a week and I think it has really cleared my head a bit. I have been sweating friends occasionally and fooling around with some of the newer poker software/scripts and just generally having a good time.

I feel a lot better and am pretty sure that I will be able to play a much better, hopefully more tilt-free game when I come back next week. I hope everything turns out alright for you bc reading your posts the last couple of days has been almost identical to the thought process(es) I was going through.

nice to hear that someone knows what i'm going through. thanks for the words, im actually going to vegas in an hour (for better or worse) - ironically maybe i will take my poker break there

Hey vicious, I use to play 1k 6max back in the beginning of the year. I was a ok 2-2.5pt player. Hit a 22 buyin downswing.

I took a week off, and dropped down to 2/4 and it was the best decision of my life. The decisions in 2/4 are like so simple compared to 2/4 and leaks that you use to have just pop up in your head as your playing and noticing new things.

Just remember if your aiming for 2.5pt at 1k 6max, you can make 6pt at 2/4 1000 easier which is the same amount of money, just easier on the mind and the swings are nonexistent.

When I hear the stuff about josh and you it reminds me of what I went through.

interesting idea, the 5/10 games are pretty dry these days anyway. btw i was running at 2.5 before this downswing but i feel like i can hit 3-3.5. thanks for the advice though, i probably will be moving down to 3/6
