Two recent polls have Bush's job approval at 42%, by far the lowest ever for a President at this point in his term.
With only a few thousand Iraqi troops ready to do battle alone, and the Republican-led Congress snubbing Bush seemingly at every opportunity, it doesn't seem the news is going to get better anytime soon. Could we possibly see a President drop into his 30s? |

he was always lame - now he's just a lame duck....all his bullying can't get him what he wants now - the Rep's all have to stop doing what Der Fuhrur wants and start doing what they want to get reelected -

I think its difficult to say how low his potential is. There are people who support a candidate simply because of their party or because of single issues. I'm under the impression that many deeply religious folks LOVE him simply because of his religousness (that doesn't look like its spelled right but I'm too lazy to look it up).
How many Broken Glass and Jaxmike's are out there? More then 30%? |

People are results oriented, so it really depends on where the country is.
I will say, for Bush to have a lower than 35% approval rating, something absolutely catastrophic must happen in the next few years. It's much easier for Bush's approval rating to get higher right now. |

Right now you only hear one side of the story from the media, so his poll numbers are supressed, but that is only temporary. |

BGC has a point. Bush went on a speaking campaign to promote his Social Security Plan. You'll remember how that nearly died until he spoke in support of it. And now everyone loves his Soc Sec plan.

Actually, even that is failing him now. After his most recent PR appearance, I mean political speech, his numbers didn't move. His approval ratings remain in the low 40's (43 in the Zogby poll taken after the speech) and 42% would be in favor of impeachment hearings if it was found that he misled the nation into war. (DUH!)
His numbers remain positive in the South, but he has slipped well below 50% in every other region of the country. In fact he slipped below 45% in SIX states that he carried in the 04 election, including Ohio. |

[/ QUOTE ]I just want to note that this number is far higher than it was for Clinton's impeachment. If only we could gain control of Congress ... Maybe the Reps changing the rules of the Senate will help with that. |
