CO ($47.50)
Button ($3.22) SB ($22.20) BB ($63.07) UTG ($48.50) Hero ($50.60) Preflop: Hero is MP with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25. 1 fold, Hero raises to $2, 3 folds, BB calls $1.50. River: ($26.25) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) BET ak47bullet, $12 Hero folds ak47bullet does not show cards. ak47bullet wins $36.95 pretty new to table, its rather tightish table. Villian is 23/10 over only 25 hands, not much of a read on him. 5/10 aggresion frequeny post flop. the raise made me think Q or even possibly 22, i probably should have either reraised or folded the turn as player. but maybe even better yet check call (to a small enough bet) turn and revealuate on river? ... what do you think |

Bet like $6 on the turn and fold to a raise.

Turn bet is bad IMO, I call the river BTW. Someone floating you on the flop is not unheard of, esp if you c-bet a lot or if he's loose passive. Also the minraise isn't always a queen or a FH, even though he's trying to rep it.

I'd check turn and call a reasonable river bet.

i check behind on flop. [/ QUOTE ] Def bet the flop for value...you get called by lots of hands here. I assume your Cbetting this flop when you whif as well? I can see checking behind turn taking a WA/WB approach. If you do bet you have to make it bigger. Betting 40% of the pot accomplishes nothing here...if you're going to bet that small you might as well check behind. As played I call the river getting over 3:1 |

Yea, recently I've been seeing the value in checking the turn in spots like this. If you check the turn (intending to call river) it'll probably do 1 of 2 things....1) induce a bluff.. 2)keep the pot small and you losing the least amount of $$ as possibly if he has trips-boat.
The only times I hate doing this (even though I probably should) is when I'm afraid of giving a free card, or if villian overbets the pot on the river. Chances are not alot of free cards are going to help villian in this hand anyway so it's definately a good spot to check. |

The turn is not necessarily a good place to check, but the bet here sucks. I would probably check behind and hope to snap off a bluff on the river, but the $4 bet into a $10 pot is bad IMO after a 2/3 pot bet on the flop. I'd either bet $6-8 or just check behind.
