Default My doomswitch theory

In regards to Ace Eleven's doomswitch survey a few days ago I'd like to say a few things.

I have become firmly convinced that the online casinos doomswitch expert players.

Many will ridicule this. Whenever the doomswitch is mentioned someone always says "why would they risk their business when they can make millions honestly", as if that statement is unquestionable. But I do question it and I suspect the truth is just the opposite. They can't make money honestly. Suppose one-tenth of a sites players are experts and nine-tenths are fish, it will only be a short period of time before the fish lose all their poker money, get tired of beening slaughtered and leave the site. Losing is no fun. Would you play day after day, week after week if you were losing? Imagine what it would be like for a bad player on a fair site.

So they doomswitch the experts so their main clientele who want to play every hand they're dealt, are happy. If the experts get frustrated and leave, well they are only a tenth of the business. The tenth that makes the rest want to quit. The sites have no choice, they would lose their business if they didn't. It makes perfect sense.

I've heard good players ridicule this idea, but I've also heard them complain that winning online is harder than in a brick and morter casino where they have to pay twice the rake, a jackpot rake, tip the dealer, and only get to play half as many hands per hour. But they offer no good explanation for why fish magically win more when they play online.

When I open an account at an online site I always start out well. I don't have a big winrate but I win consistently. Then one day after several weeks it just stops and I can never win there again. This has happened to me at five sites now. That's it for me. It's too bad. Online poker is very convenient, but there's nothing we can do. They don't want our business in the first place.

Anyway, that's my theory. Don't think it so far fetched. You know where millions of dollars are at stake, people have no problem with bending the rules a little.

Good luck. See you at the brick and mortar casino.

It's a shame your whole argument is based on this completely incorrect and absurd premise.

The idea that losing players lose and then leave is fallacious. There is no database for cash game play win/loss unless it's personally compiled. But there is a large database that tracks SNG players called Sharkscope.com. According to this database 2/3 of the players lose money and 1/3 win money overall. Every day I encounter players with negative thousands of dollars lost and yet they've still played thousands of SNGs.

You don't just quit poker, it's just like any other drug. And it's actually less expensive than a heroin or crystal-meth addiction. And at the lower stakes it's cheaper than a marijuana or crack addiction.

you ever think that you might be a playr with a good A game and a terrible b--z game? moving site gives you confidence to play well, then you get accustomed to it and like all you morons you start to remember the suckouts and not when you suckout and eventually you go back from your A game to the cesspit of you b---z game

Also its probably harder to win online then live because the players are better.. you can be a pro playing 3/6nl online and 2/4, so theres a reason why good players play there but good players dont often play that low live

you sir in summary are a complete idiot and deserve to go broke. GL handling filth ridden chips and speaking with broke ass monkeys at the table, swapping bad beat and online is rigged stories... you know the saying.. "morons of a feather flock together"
