best song intro
i don't remember if we've done this yet, and it didn't turn up in a search, so...
What's your favorite opening thirty-forty seconds of a song? A song where as soon as it comes on it's instantly identifiable? My picks: Ticket To Ride - The Beatles Perhaps the first use of feedback as an intentional piece of the song in popular music. Just Like Heaven - The Cure The most deleriously infectious opening in pop music history, IMO. It just builds and builds and builds until Robert Smith's vocals finally, breathlessly, joins in. Just What I Needed - The Cars duh duh duh duh DAAA duh duh duh duh DAAA duh duh duh duh DAAA DAAA...! Greatest bass line opening ever. yours?

The Les Claypool version has a better intro bass riff than the original.
