I open TT on the button and unknown BB calls. Flop comes J52r. He donks. I plan on hitting the call button three times.

Give me a reason for not raising that flop.

Pots not too big. He only folds hands I am beating. I have position to bet if he checks.
I win max when I'm ahead and lose min when behind. |

You're acting as if this is WA/WB. He could easily have something like A2/A5 which he'll probably never fold. He could also very well have a J. I usually hate it when people say "raise or fold" but I'll generally do 1 or the other on the turn if not on the flop in this spot unless I have a read that he's a dumb LAG who likes to bluff every street with air and will bluff 3bet. |

So how about raising turn planning to check behind most rivers [/ QUOTE ] Dude, this is FPS. Just raise and re-evaluate. If he goes 3bets, figure out if you wanna call it down. Raise flop, if he calls, bet turn. If he calls, bet river. Do NOT check the river if that's how the action goes. Good luck. Jihad |

You raised his blind, you should continue to attack until he plays back. Then you have your calldown/fold decision. Give the man a chance to back down early and often. |

So how about raising turn planning to check behind most rivers [/ QUOTE ] This line is the best IMO. You have to raise the flop or turn because your hand is very vulnerable. If you raise the flop, you may get 3bet by hands you beat A5, 77, whatever. If you do get 3bet, you'd have to put in another 2.5bb in with no chance of improvement to see a showdown. If you wait until the turn, it is unlikely that he will be 3betting with a worse hand. |

The problem I see with this line is your hand is vulnerable. Do you still call down when more overs fall. Does he stop betting 99 when overs fall when he would have called a flop raise.
That being said I take the passive line 50% of the time only to be drawn out on. The other 50% I raise and he folds. My stand right now is raise and take a free SD. Fold turn to C/R considering pot size. |
