Default Scary board for a set of Queens

no reads (currently pokertrackerless)

Party Poker 3/6 Limit Hold'em<font color="#0000FF">(10 handed)</font> link

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, UTG calls , <font color="#666666">1 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+2 raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP3 raises</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, UTG+2 calls , Hero calls.

MP3's cold cap is scary here.

Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
UTG+2 checks, Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP3 bets</font>, UTG+2 calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raise </font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP3 raises </font>, UTG+2 folds, Hero calls.

I smooth called the 3-bet, intending to checkraise an innocent turn???

Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP3 bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn is nowhere near innocent, I'm behind AA, KK, and JJ. I just call and intend to check call UI on river.

River: 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero Checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP3 bets</font>, Hero calls.

How was my line? Would I have been correct to take that smooth call flop, checkraise safe turn?

i like capping and betting out personally...

that ace blows... i don't mind the line from there, just check call and pray for AK

If I cap, do I still bet out after the ace falls on the turn? And if I do, don't I have fold to a raise?

when that ace hits you're just in deep crap any way you look at it... i'd prefer two check calls to a bet/fold line here by far... with the bet fold you're still getting the one bet in there, and theres still the possibility that he'll bluff you off with AK, the one hand in his range you can beat...

so bet fold's not an option in my opinion... at this point i personally would go for the double check call like i would've when you smooth called the 3 and the ace hit...

I would bet the flop and hope MP3 raises to help push out UTG+2. True, he's not likely to fold any sort of good draw here, but the pot is already huge and I think that improving your chances even a little bit is worth it. After that, I'd 3-bet and see if MP3 caps.

Either way, I think I'd lead the turn. MP3's actions so far seem more like AK or AA than JJ (a lot of players won't cap with JJ PF, and most wouldn't be so aggro with it on this flop). There are 9 ways he can have AK and only 6 that ways that he can have AA. I think I'd rather bet out have the turn go 1 or 2 bets, rather than go for a checkraise and have it go 0 bets if he takes a free card, and 3 bets if you are behind.

Folding to a raise here can't be right - first, he could raising with AK, (correctly) figuring that it's unlikely that you have a J. Second, if he has JJ then you have 10 outs to a boat. True, you are drawing nearly dead against AA and KK, but I think the pot is just too big to lay down this set here.

not factoring in JJ here is a mistake IMO... and you're also leaving out the six possible KK's to which you're drawing to one out... you are behind much more often than not...

if you're ahead at this point your lucky, and i wouldn't mind missing a value bet in this spot by a check check turn when you're behind so often... as opposed to opening yourself up to calling 3 bets...
