There has been countless media research done that child abductions(the ones that always make MSNBC/Geraldo/etc go apeshit with ratings joy) of white girls get waaay more media coverage than those involving minorities.

And no...if a poor black girl disapearred in Aruba...it would make news. But Halloway was news for over a year and is still news.
If it was a poor black girl it would be news for maybe a month or so...and then the public would lose interest.
