From the OP the game appeared to be going all night so most players are on overtime (OT). When they are on OT any excuse to leave is good enough. I remember one player who (if an a good OT game) would make sure all the chip racks are as far away from the table as possible so nobody would get the idea to "rack up" and leave.

It certainly can't be that much of a hassle....but from Al's tone I gather that moving a table like that is almost a sure-fire way to get players to leave which I think is somewhat interesting.

A game full of noon to 7:00pm day players can easily be moved at let's say 3:00pm (they will grumble but they will move, which is why you should still do it rarely).
