No, not unfriendly. Londoners just like to mind their own business.

They know if someone you don't know talks to you, they're from out of town, or just weird. If a tourist talks to you, you talk back politely.

This reminds me of a trip to London, with a friend, when we were 16 year old little punks. The weather was nice, everybody was very polite, but we couldnīt find a single place to sit down and smoke some hash since we met a cop (aka "bobby") at every single damn corner. .

Edit: This thread amazes me with its revelation how weird america is. You arenīt allowed to drink beer in public over there?
