Sure it's entertaining on a shallow level because of the great chemistry and dialogue between Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes, but there are also a lot of poignant moments regarding Harrelson's pride, his gambling problem, and the end of his relationship. I thought the bittersweet ending and the closing scene were very well done.

I had a really good time with this movie, and think some of the criticism was dead on. When Woodie asks Wesley Snipes how many meals his kids had to skip so he could wear his jewelry, it was a damn good knock. Woodie nailed Snipes really good with a few criticisms.
