One key piece of information that might also come into play is the fact that before they got married, Lori and Daniel had actually broken up (and at the time I believe they also had decided that they were better off as just friends). Some time passed and then BAM, marriage. My guess is that they probably had a gut feeling even back then that they might not be right for each other as far as the long haul is concerned, and that fine, y'know? It happens to all of us and it really does come off as if though they both knew that this was for the best. The question here would be what exactly happened between the first break up and the reconciliation/marriage that made them think they could somehow work past the fact that were'nt right for each other. I'm sure those close to him know way more than any of us ever will, but again deep down I think they both kinda knew a long time ago that it just wasn't meant to be.
