Default Re: LC - Why don\'t you play 6 max ?

[ QUOTE ]
So far I have only played full-ring cash games online (about 25000 hands) and my reasons for playing it is that this is what is played in casinos and I would eventually like to play live games so I see this as a training period. I also prefer to play a TAG game and my opinion is that 6-max is more suited to a LAG player.

However, everyone else I know who plays cash games plays 6-max and their main reason for doing this is that they say 6-max is more profitable for a winning player because they will be playing more hands vs the losing players..

What do you think? Do you agree ? Why do you play full-ring ? Why don't you play 6-max ?

I struggle more to play 6 tables of 6-max than 17 of FR. My 6-max winrate at 1/2nl is definitely less than double my FR winrate (in terms of BB/100), and I see more than twice as many hands per hour at FR, so my short-term hourly rate is higher at FR. Long run 6-max is going to make me a better poker player (similarly playing fewer tables, regardless of my game choice, will make me better), but right now that isn't as important to me as making money. Plus FR is lower variance and less stressful, I can sanely get in more hours per week than I could handle at 6-max.
