Default Re: A book or article for heads up stud hi?

Hey ceegee

I have never seen or heard of anything covering what you ask for. I've played a lot of 7CS SNGs and my philosophy when heads-up has always been raise the highest upcard unless you have absolute trash. Mix in calls with your weaker and stronger holdings. When raisng, keep up the heat on 4th (unless villain catches very scary) and evaluate on 5th, but bear in mind that many villains call down 3rd and 4th with trash and give up on 5th. When the BI, always choose the lowest amount. All in all, HU plays a lot like an ante-steal attempt in FR. Also, weird draws add a lot of value HU - like 3-straights, 3-flushes, gutshots and such, because hand-values on average are puny so pairing a face card while chasing may be enough to win for instance.

Cheers,
