The Card Player article and Party press release are retarded. Lines like, "For a moment in the big amphitheatre aboard the ms. Westerdam, it seemed more like a frat party than a poker tournament, but that exuberant tone belied the intensity of the event which saw Schneider, in mirrored sunglasses and backward baseball cap, slowly wear down top pro Kenna James and the first player ever to make two PartyPoker.com Million final tables, Scott Buller," and, "Kenna James is a well-known poker pro from Southern California. As the last established name left in the field, James had to be the favorite to come away with the title. He was consistent throughout the event, seemingly always in a comfortable position. But Mike Schneider, the 22-year old poker pro and University of Minnesota student turned out to be the X-factor that the handicappers weren’t counting on."
In particular, the Card Player description is embarrassing. It's as if they have no clue about the high limit games online.

Not to mention that Scott Huff who writes these things for Cardplayer was in the computer lab the night they played down to 6 players and I specifically told him that Schneids was a successful high limit cash game player and respected and well known 2+2 community member.
I said that I expected that Cardplayer wouldn't mention the 2+2 connection because of the animosity between the two publications and Scott Huff laughed me off and said it wasn't true. Does he not remember when he refered multiple times to a 'internet message board' on the circuit when BK challenged Mike M to a freezout?

But even removing 2+2. Did he talk to Mike and ask simple things like, "What limits do you play online? Have you played live before? Where? How big?" Very simple, basic things that were not mentioned.

it makes for better reading this way. if the story was "Mike Schneider, who those "in the know" would have tabbed as one of the favorites, wins PPM", the average moron wouldn't be interested.
