This generally isn't permitted unless you are in the poker room. If you buy in over $3k they have a record of it. If you don't give them any ID they are supposed to write down a description of what you look like, so tell them where you got the chips and it shouldn't be a problem. I am not saying this is right, I am just saying if you truly bought the chips cashing them shouldn't be a problem.
