I wouldn't call this giving them the benefit of the doubt -- merely that the story from AP regarding the HH from seif-gate matches the story I got from them regarding a HH in the past. I'd tend to believe the story since it matches my prior experience with AP.

Yeah, I wasn't so much saying that we shouldn't believe the story, but rather highlighting the ridiculousness of their policy of storing master DB's on $800 Dell laptops.
It's not a legitimate policy to have. They were never legitimate, and they're making it pretty clear that they never will be.
