If a "high profile" individual is spearheading a massive cheating ring it makes perfect sense that the company does not retain an adequate hand history database.
"Hey boss, we're running thin on space for hand histories. Should I contact our hardware supplier and order more hard drives?"
"Uhh yeah, go ahead. Wait, WHAT? No! Just delete the data. Our accountants tell me we don't have room in the budget for unexpected hardware expenditures. Just nuke it."
"Oh, okay."
