i actually think this was a pretty good matchup for the rockies on paper tonight. i don't think we are more of a favorite in game 1 with beckett than we are with dice k versus whomever in game 3 simply because francis is usually waaaayyyy better than whoever that guy is.

Also I disagree with this. Beckett is so much better than anyone alive righ tnow. Schilling is hittable (I am excited for this matchup, I DREADED becketts matchiP), Dice-K is definitely hittable, Beckett is a baby Jesus.

if I was a Rox fan, losing game 1 wouldn't depress me. what would depress me is watching what a patient, good hitting club does to a staff with meh stuff who spend a lot of time outside the strike zone. lots of hits fell in for us tonight, and I'm not expecting 13 runs every night, but I wouldn't be surprised to see 6 every night.
