Default Re: Yellowstone or Glacier National Park?

I was in Glacier as a child and it was cool.

But the last four years we've been going to Yellowstone and a bit to the Grand Tetons. It is a fantastic experience.

My sister and her family live in Bozeman and we go see them over the 4th of july and either prior to that or after that spend time at Yellowstone. We've never stayed in the park and want to do that sometime. We have stayed in all three major entrances and also in the south.

On the south: Check out Flagg Ranch. They're on the net and have both campground and beautiful cabins.

On the East: Check out Pahaska Teepee. Also on the net. Right at the entrance. And there is also Cody WY, but that is about an hour outside the park.

On the West: Well we did a Best Western or something, the West entrance is the least impressive base camp unless you are going backcountry camping.

On the north: Don't stay in the Motel 6 in Gardiner, there are other places there that looked ok though. We were only there for 8 hours but it wasn't a nice place to stay. Beautiful town with Elk wandering around through town and plenty to do once in the park.

If you come in the North Entrance a great place to stay along the way but before you get to Gardiner is a place called Chico Hot Springs. It's a little resort in the hills and a great party in the bar every night we have ever been there.

If coming in through the west entrance you can't go wrong in Big Sky as you go through the Gallitin Range but before you get into West Yellowstone town.

Good luck.

Oh, btw, this summer we're probably going to Glacier for a change.
