Downloaded & registered the product, just finished my first use.
Cons:
setup time is long if you don't have your databases converted to SQL yet. (several hours)
connecting your database(s) to the program wasn't quite clear at first. (this is mostly user-induced delay, because im not the most computer savvy)
takes a while to scan and can lead to player turnover by the time you're done
Pros:
obviously, no hassle with the party lobby any more (or at least it is reduced)
no constant joining of tables and exiting of tables to look for good games
complete breakdown of the tables, everything you'd want to know.
Anyways, pretty obvious pro/cons but I really liked the software and thought I'd at least share my experience with it.

Thanks for the review and for the feedback.
I realize that the database configuration is complicated for some of you, so i'm working to make it simplier. In the next release, you will finally have the same database names you use in PokerTracker displayed in PTS, so it should be easier. I will also try to add Access Database support, but it may not be in the next release, since right now i have no developping experience with access database. If someone can help me with Access database queries, feel free to PM me or contact me at
[email protected] .
Concerning the time necessary to scan, i'm also working to improve that. Here is what will be added in the next release:
- faster database access
- player stats cache : PTS will store in a cache the stats of players already retrieved from the database, so that the same queries are not done again and again. I think this will save a lot of time and a lot of database queries. Users will have parameters to manage this cache.
- separate process for the player list retrieval and database queries. This will also save time.
With the faster scan process, it will be easier for PTS to keep the table stats up-to date.
Regards
Fabien (PTS support)
