I like a bigger bet on the flop, like 15, even though the board is pretty dry. I think a solid player like your opponent will be a little less tempted to make a move this way. When you bet 1/2 pot, a lot of the tricky players will see this as them getting a good price to try something fancy.

When you get check raised here, it's a tough spot obv. Seems like he's either got a set or he's bluffing and knows it most of the time. Because of the dry board, and the fact that his AF is a bit low for a 17 vpip, I would lean towards folding...but I think it's close.

Calling is an option, you have position and if he is making a move, he may give up on the turn. On the flop, he might be putting you on AK. When you call the flop CR, you are telling him you have an overpair. If he makes another large bet on the turn I would fold.
