Losing it too fast almost always means losing a good amount of muscle too, which does an awful lot to keep your metabolism high and burn fat. I think a much better goal, and still a very tough and worthwhile one to be proud of, is to bust your hump really hard working out and controlling your diet(not starving yourself or even under-eating), and whatever happens with the scale, happens. The scale is a really terrible determiner of whether you're losing fat or doing well, especially for men. It's a cruel and arbitrary instrument.
