pandora seems to work really well if your tastes fall pretty clearly along genre or time lines. if you are like me and enjoy particular artists across a bunch of different genres, but dislike many of their contemporaries, it can be hard to get a consistently good mix.
i have had some good luck with finding songs or albums that i like on pandora, it's just not a sure-fire thing for me.
