Lol imprisonment? here in holland they can just fire you when lied during the job interview thats it.
And even then if a year or so past by you could be a garbagemen working in IT they can't fire you anymore.(that's the responsibility of the firm to see if your doing your job correctly)
I mean he's working in IT not CIA of course a firm can do a background check but providing proof of travels and investment history is a little exaturated don't you think?
