Like others said, it depends on the person and the situation. If you hate college and/or are paying for it yourself, then drop out. If you have a scholarship or someone else is footing the bill, switch to an easy major and just get the piece of paper. Also, there's no reason why a pro couldn't pay professors from a local college $30-40/hr for private lessons. This you you would learn more and it would be cheaper than enrolling (for most). Dropping out doesn't mean you have to be ignorant for the rest of your life.
