Of course not. But when you are with someone for 4 years within that relationship the future and marriage does come up if the relationship is serious enough. We talked about the idea of getting married before ever proposing, I believe all couples should do this--this doesn't ruin the surprise b/c she didn't know when or how I was going to do it (all she said was no sporting events if and when I did it). This is also why I was always surprised when guys would get turned down by proposals b/c I don't understand proposing if you don't know she is going to say yes.
